Our Adoption Journey!

Hello Friends! We have prayerfully decided it is time to, once again, add to our family through the miracle of adoption. I have been updating our Adoption Blog as a way to share our family with others. I am asking for your help to spread the word! Please, share our blog on your facebook page and with your friends and family. If you know anyone considering placing a baby/child for adoption, please keep us in mind.  We sincerely thank you for your love and support as we begin this journey.

SNOW!!!!

Oh, what do you do in the winter time when all the roads are closed?   Do YOU....
 Play in the snow,

Watch Star Wars for the first time,

Or play with a box for DAYS?

Is that what you do?!?    So Do I.

 Sledding Fun!

The advantage of living down the street from your cousins is you get to build snowmen together when it snows.

We had some crazy weather the past 4 days.  It started coming down Tuesday morning and instantly stuck to the roads and turned to ice. There was nothing to be done, no one could go anywhere.  People were stranded on the interstate, stuck in their offices, and stuck at school for a few days. Luckily I was home with the boys as Brandt had a cold that morning and we were laying low at home. Andrew was only a few miles away but by the time he was able to head home, the way was completely impassable. He ended up ditching his car in a church parking lot and walked the 3 1/2 miles home. Along the way he passed the middle school and was able to get our 13 year old niece and she continued the walk home with him.  5 of our family members were stuck at their works or at a friends house. Our state came together with lots of stories of people helping out each other. When my family moved to Alabama in 1989 and my mom saw all the hills, and she asked what people do when it snows?  And THIS is why the relater answered..."Stay Home Of Course!!!"  We survived Snowpocalypse 2014!

January--Family Time

I did it! I am up to date on the blog.  I started my update project this month with the idea that we will soon be approved to adopt again. I hope it will help someone who is trying to get to know us, have a better idea who we are and what our life is like.  But also, I love having our year recorded.

We love our local science center. Andrew had a day off and we had a fun day! Brandt and I were both concentrating very hard to get him in that bubble!
Daddy and Hunter playing with some toys in the 'just my size' area.
They boys making discoveries in the Dino Dig.

During the holidays they have a train to ride. Brandt is saying choo, choo. This is Hunter's favorite thing right now. He keeps saying WHEEEEE over and over!
 Building a fort!
Hunter is happy just hanging out at home too.
Watch out for this Ninja, he is ready for anything!
Here are the boys on a quick trip to the zoo for an afternoon.  The otter came right up next to them.
 Cute boys after church.
We had a warm day and went for a hike to some very pretty waterfalls.

December!

We had a wonderful Christmas season. We feel blessed to celebrate our Savior's birth and are grateful for the example he has given us in how to live.
They boys enjoyed their visit with Santa.  Both got to chat with him and  he was very nice.

Acting out the Nativity with Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandmom and Grandpop.

Leaving Santa some things. Brandt wrote him a note and colored several pictures for him.  In his note to Santa he told Santa that Christmas is about Jesus too, and that he should believe in him because he died for us.  Andrew and I were pretty impressed by his sweet and simple testimony.

The boys had a blast opening presents and seeing what fun surprises they had.

The boys and their toys!

One favorite time each Christmas is getting to go to Grandmom's to make and decorate cookies.

Everyone had so much fun creating memories of this special time together.

November!

November 21st started bright and early with Hunter getting tubes in his ears.  He had 8 ear infections before getting them, and they have done wonders! He hasn't had one in the two months since getting them put in. He did a great job with surgery and recovered wonderfully. Mommy and Hunter stayed at home all day laying low per his discharge instructions.

Later that SAME day I got a call from my sweet friend who had taken Brandt to the park. (So I could stay home and keep Hunter recovering.)  He had fallen and was hurting pretty badly. She brought him home and we headed to the doctor.  This tough boy broke his arm, and got a cool camo cast. It is a day we won't soon forget.  The cast didn't slow him down too much! After 4 weeks in his cast, he got the all clear, and his arm is as good as new!

One of our favorite family traditions is going to a christmas tree farm and choosing and cutting down the best tree we find.

For Thanksgiving we went to North Alabama to visit Andrew's family. We went on a fun hike while there. Hunter really liked riding in the backpack and Brandt loved finding cool sticks.

Brandt is FIVE (In the middle of November)!

We love our Brandt! He is outgoing, happy, goofy, loves sports, and is all boy! He is also caring, kind, loving, and gives great super hugs!
He took diving lessons over the summer.

His philosophy in life is no puddle should go un-splashed.

Washing the car with daddy = wet and sudsy boy!

Rocks and Water, two of his favorite things.

Just having fun being silly.

Playing with his slime. He loves to be hands on.

One of his favorite places to be...in the pool under water!

He decided we were going to be the 4 ninja turtles for Halloween.  It was 'totally radical dude!'

He had a ninja turtle birthday party that was great fun.

This boy is growing up way too fast!!!!!! We are enjoying the moments.
